5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome sequel to Trainee in Action by C. Cortez

Format: Paperback
This is the second book in the Heavenly Bodyguards series, and I can't say enough good things about it. Rebecca sure has a gift when it comes to storytelling. This book is able to deal with hard topics- such as abuse- in a wonderfully clean and sensitive way, all while not making the story feel like there is something lacking. I can not wait until the third book comes out this year.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fascinating Book! by E Cowgill

Format: Kindle Edition
Whether you believe in guardian angels or not, this book is fascinating! The premise of the book is that when a person dies and goes to heaven, he/she cam be sent back to earth as a "Heavenly Bodyguard." For the first year, the person is a trainee and assigned to an experienced bodyguard. This is where Book 1 "Heavenly Bodyguards - Trainee in Action" begins. Joelle has been in a terrible accident and is killed. Upon arriving in heaven, she learns that she will be going back to earth as a bodyguard and her trainer will be a man named Josh. They are assigned to Hannah, a young girl who has been placed in an orphanage due to the death of her parents. I will not spoil it for the readers - but I will say that this book is full of drama and action. I found it hard to put down.
It's also the first book in a three-book series. So grab this one and read it and then read the other two! I promise you will not be disappointed!

Joelle is dead; but she is just beginning to find out her purpose. Joelle is hit by a vehicle while saving a child. When she dies, Joelle is welcomed into heaven and immediately told that she will be serving as a guardian angel. Joelle's trainer, Josh delivers Joelle to her first assignment, a twelve year old girl in Scotland named Hannah. Joelle's job is to give Hannah a helping hand as she navigates life in an orphanage. Joelle may also help Hannah get adopted into a loving home. However, as Joelle and Josh spend time with Hannah and a potential adoptive mother, Joelle learns of evil angels that may turn her plans awry.
This is a book aimed at the Young Adult crowd with a religious leaning. I could guess from the title that this book would involve religious figures, there was just a little too much religious ideology for me to really enjoy it. The author makes it known from the beginning that she is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and creates Joelle as a member of the Church also. Many tenants of the religion are placed throughout the book such as modesty and good overruling evil. As the author's first book, some of the writing was a little clunky and I felt there were some parts that were really not necessary for the plot, like an angel that constantly hit on Joelle and did n't seem to take no for an answer. Although the religious tones overwhelmed me a bit, I did enjoy the overall story. Joelle's personality was strong and she changed the way guardian angels were trained. I was compelled to find out how she was able to help Hannah and untangle the mess that has befallen her and her potential adopter, Ruth. The end was very exciting and suspenseful and carried me through. Although I may not be quite the right audience for this book, I do believe someone in the YA audience with a strong sense of spirituality would enjoy this book as well as the rest of the series.

This book was amazing! I loved the plot, the storytelling was phenomenal, and the playful sarcasm from the lead character throughout the book was refreshing. I have not read a book that was both clean and interesting in a long time, so this was a very nice find. I will definitely be buying more from Rebecca.
5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Little Read by Russ Sturges

Heavenly Bodyguards - Trainee in Action - This is a great little read, which will keep you occupied from start to finish. It has great character development, and covers situations that we all are aware of, and probably wish we weren’t. This is a better way of looking at how to help overcome some of those things.
Guardian Angels 5.0 out of 5 stars (review on my online book store)
I totally enjoyed this book! It was an interesting take on who guardian angels are and what they do, as well as how the guardians achieve their goals. It was interesting to read the guardian angels still had their personalities, faults, and strengths as they went about their work. I enjoyed the characters with the feisty, sarcastic Joelle and her charge, Hannah who had to grow up too soon after losing her parents. It is an easy read that makes one reflect on his views of the afterlife and spirit world.

Creativity and Imagination = Captivating By Edwina E. Cowgill VINE VOICE on March 13, 2016
I was privileged to work on a few sections of "Heavenly Bodyguards: Trainee in Action" with Rebecca, but she did all of the writing and gets all the credit for that and for all of the creativitiy that went into the book.
And it is Ms. Lange's creativity and imagination that made this book so captivating! The descriptions of scenes will make the reader feel as if he/she is right there. I loved the characters and found myself cheering them on. Although I have not done any research, I doubt if there are very many fiction books on "heavenly bodyguards," which makes this book even more unique.
I loved this book and highly recommend it! Can't wait for the next installment!
Serious Reading:
Heavenly Bodyguards – Trainee in Action is written by Rebecca Lange who was raised in Germany but has been living in America since 2004. Heavenly Bodyguards – Trainee in action is the first part of a trilogy and these days, Rebecca is working on her fourth book.
The story revolves around Joelle who finds out she is dead and finds out that she has some after-death duties to take care of. Now that she’s dead, Joelle must go back to earth so she can be trained to be a guardian angel.
There are many things Joelle gets to learn as she is given her first assignment as a guardian angel with her Trainer Josh. It is how they find out about Hannah, a 12 year old who lost her parents in an accident and does not want to live in an orphanage. It is up to Joelle to find someone suitable to adopt Hannah as soon as possible and use her powers to protect her from harm.
If only all that was easy. Before the training year is over, Hannah needs to defeat evil angels who keep putting obstacles in her way, learn how to use her powers and learn to listen to her heart and find a loving family to adopt Hannah before time runs out. Rebecca really knows how to write soft, relatable stories and she has made Joelle into a sarcastic, easy going personality which brings adventure and humor to the plot.
Heavenly Bodyguards is a beautiful concept because it talks about love and hope. It makes you believe in angels and that there is someone out there taking care of you. It is due to this reason that Heavenly Bodyguards is bound to become a readers’ favorite. But more than anything, the book is about how you can look at things differently if you simply believe in yourself. Heavenly Bodyguards – Trainee in action is definitely a book worth reading.

"Heavenly Bodyguards - Trainee in Action"
